This is a night cache, you will need a flashlight.
It is not widely known, but this area used to be a farm. You may wonder how an area with so many hills and ponds could ever serve as a farm. Well, it wasn’t any ordinary farm. It was owned by two Felinian scientists who brought an exotic breed of cats to the United States.
Let’s back up a little bit. Mr. and Mrs. Catsolarmy were developing militant cats for the Felinian underground. These cats could be easily distinguished from other cats by looking at their eyes. One eye was copper, and the other was pearl. If you stared into their eyes for too long, it would have a hypnotic effect on you. The final intent was to have the cats infiltrate the enemy and take over the minds of the soldiers. For testing purposes, they just would cause you to do strange things like play with squeaky toys or balls of yarn.
The Catsolarmys were about to make a huge breakthrough in their experiments when they were discovered. To avoid capture, they fled from Felinia and came to this area. Without their lab or any funding, they were left with only their cats and a box of family treasures. They started a cat farm and raised their very special cats. Because of the cat’s powers, they couldn’t be sold or given away.
The area here provided more than enough room for the Catsolarmys and their cats. The cats could roam free over
acres and acres of land. When it was feeding time, Mrs. Catsolarmy would just ring the doorbell, and all the cats would come running.
Over the years, the cats began to mutate back to their original militant purpose. From time to time, a traveling salesman would come up missing while ringing doorbells in the area. One day, the Catsolarmys themselves disappeared shortly after Mrs. Catsolarmy rang the bell to indicate feeding time.
After that, nobody knows what happened to all the cats. It is rumored that they still live in the trees of Bald Mountain. If you follow them, you may just find what’s left of the Catsolarmy’s house or maybe even the Catsolarmy treasure.
The cats are usually alone. If you see two cats together along the trail, then you better get off the trail because that’s an indicator that many more are on their way. When you find two cats in the woods, then you have reached the location that once was the Catsolarmy’s homestead. The box of Catsolarmy treasures is close to this pair of cats.
If you need any help from here, try calling the cats, but be careful not to get lost in the woods. You don’t want to be the next to disappear.
