Geocache Description:

A cache in Morgans Valley, at the head of Heathcote Valley. It is partway along a walkway.

The cache is a clear plastic 1l container. It is about 10 metres from a newish walking track that runs along the base of the cliffs at the head of Morgans Valley.

The track runs from the Bridle Path at 43° 35.239 172° 42.436 It runs all the way to Rockery, although we did not go all the way along the track to find out.

It is not possible to access this cache from the Summit Road. It is also not recommended to access it through the new subdivision below the cache site, as there are machines working, private property, and there is also a substantial rockfall fence in the way.

There are some good views along the way. There are no 'No Dogs' signs, but you will need to have a lead as there are often sheep nearby. The track would be suitable for mountain buggies ( at least at the SE end). Bikes are not allowed.

The cliffs above are spectacular when illuminated by a sunset!

The start of the walk up is easily accessible from public transport. You can get there on a No. 8 bus. Get off at the Gondola.
