Come take a look at these huge wind-powered turbines expected to
generate enough electricity to power 1300 homes. Park at N32 43.070
W116 21.880, or take that dirt road to within 100 feet of ground
zero. The container is on the south side of some boulders.
This location is as close as I could get you to the turbines
without being on an Indian reservation. The turbines sit on the
Campo Indian Reservation, but there are no signs or gates
preventing you from taking a short drive to them if you want to
take a closer look; continue north on the paved road (identified as
Crestwood Rd on Maps Google or Route 12 on MapSource) and turn east
on a dirt road at N32 43.533 W116 21.755. On the way back, turn
left at the yield sign on a nicer maintaned dirt road that will
take you directly to the I-8 onramps.
