Geocache Description:

Another set of caches along the South County Trail.  Trying to continue on with H2"O"s great work on the North County Trail.
A nice walk on the paved trail.  Even a chance to learn a little history of the location. Bring your own pen.

The South County Trailway is a 14.1-mile (22.7 km) long trail stretching from Van Cortlandt Park in The Bronx to Elmsford in Westchester, NY. Construction started in the 1990s and was completed in 2011.  Most sections of the trailway are paved.  This was once the part of the New York Central Railroad system.

Poison Ivy is very common along this trail, but I did my best to avoid it.

The cache is a camoed micro container.  You will not need venture too far from the path.
Near GZ you will see an informational post providing a history of the Putnam Division Railroad.  At this location the CHAUNCEY Station once stood.  On either side of the trail, you can explore into the brush and see some of the ruins.

Parking is available at the posted coordinates.
