In order to access the cache for 1 MMRP find the answers to the following questions (they're in the visitor center) and tell them to the friendly staff member behind the desk and they will hand you the container!! :
- What year was the competitive track designed?
- When was the first family campground designed?
- In what year was the largest parcel of land purchased to increase the park to 15,741 acres?
Cautions:
1. Carry plenty of water, especially in summer
2. Do not overextend yourself - the Park averages one rescue every 3 weeks
3. Watch for rattlesnakes, scorpions, thorns, and other natural hazards while in the Park
About MMRP:
Nestled in the lower Verde River basin, the 21,099-acre park is a desert jewel in the northeast Valley. Elevations in the park rise to 3,000 feet along the western boundary at the base of the McDowell Mountains. Visitors can enjoy a full program schedule, over 50 miles of multiuse trails, and spectacular views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Hiking, mountain biking, birding, horseback riding, picnicking, stargazing events, camping, wildlife education, and much more can be enjoyed at MMRP.
