and the First, Last ;-)

A very easy little hike from parking to a row of oak trees. Had to up the terrain rating a bit, as the trail is very sandy, now, and not suitable for wheelchairs, and only barely for strollers The title will give you a bit of a hint about the hiding spot. The cache has a logbook and a small pencil, and a little bit of room for very small trade items, or a geocoin. This is just another reason to get out to a nice little Ventura park which has lots of easy to moderately-difficult trails. There are several other caches in this park. Several local high schools and colleges use this park for cross-country training and meets; our youngest daughter, Liann, ran here a number of times for Rio Mesa HS: Go Spartans!! Parking is free during the week; $5 on weekends, effective 2007. The park is only open from about 8 am until sundown, so no night caching. Enjoy!
