This cache does not want to be seen.
It is doing it's best to stay hidden.
This cache was originally hidden up Clear Creek
Canyon. However, between the tree canopy and the narrowness
of the canyon, it was anything but GPS-r friendly. This
location is much better. I took 6 sets of coordinates with a
reading of 15 feet accuracy and only came up with only 2 sets of
numbers; the decimal minute of the longitude was off by one
digit.
You're going to need the accuracy to find this elusive
bugger!
This is a great hiking and biking area.
You may also get lucky and see some deer while you're up
here. Make sure to bring some water with you. It's not
a killer climb, but you will appreciate it one you get yourself up
to the top.
You are looking for camouflaged .30 cal. ammo
can.
Just in case you don't know what a Ghillie
Suit is, here's a picture:
At the time of placement the
cache contents were:
Several die-cast cars found in caches
Two New Compact Discs
Chinese fan
Dr. of Rockology Cache Prescription Signature Item
Log Book and Pens
Stash Note
Don't forget that you
are in an area that is favored by Rattlesnakes. I have never
seen one in this area, but common sense tells me that they are
around somewhere.
I always make sure of what I'm sticking my hand into before I stick
it.
Please, replace the cache with
the un-camouflaged part to the rear of its hiding place.
Thanks to BobTheCat for planting
the idea for the camouflaging.
I had this site in mind for
another cache and was going to name it "Ring of Fire" because of
the scorched area the hiding place straddles and the other burned
area to the southeast and below the cache. However, I was
afraid that the estate of the late Johnny Cash wouldn't
agree. Besides, "Wearing a Ghillie Suit" is more
suitable.
Cache you later.
