COORDINATES HAVE BEEN CHANGED SINCE PUBLISHING! Make sure you have
the new ones.
It seems the older I get, the more interested I become in local
history. Busch Gardens is a favorite of mine.
This cache is set in the midst of what used to be the old Busch
Gardens, and in fact GZ is a remnant of the gardens. This is the
old original Busch Gardens begun in 1905, not to be confused with
the one in the Valley. If you drive downhill from this spot, you
will see the remains of a pool supplied by a natural spring,
surrounded by a stone structure. There used to be a little hut at
the top of the pool. A little further down, you can park and use
the gate to have access to several nearby caches in the Arroyo
Seco. Not far from here you can see the beautifully preserved Old
Mill from a small gate (private property, no trespassing!) located
on Madeline Dr. east of Arroyo Blvd. As you walk along the arroyo
in this area, you can see what remains of the stone-lined walkways
on the eastern bank, the stones coming from the arroyo. There are
many remnants of the gardens hidden in residents' backyards that we
can't get to. Several movies were made here, including Robin Hood.

The cache has been replaced and is now larger with room for
small swag. Includes log and lottery scratcher for FTF. Bring your
own pencil.
