Park your car and follow the blue blazes for the North Country Scenic Trail. I would strongly suggest taking a topo map. This trail follows more of the ridge line above Hell’s Run and the falls. As you walk along the trail you can hear the sound of the fall’s in the distance. There are many areas along the trail where you can look down at the creek. Be extra careful, these are steep drop off’s but excellent views.

There is a connector trail to the falls a few hundred feet from the parking lot. This trail is a more direct route to the fall’s which is about 0.4 miles. After finding the cache and returning back towards the parking lot, please be sure to also visit the falls.

I would suggest you do NOT try to walk back from the cache to the fall’s via Hell’s Run creek. I would rate this terrain as a 5. Only experienced hikers and rocker climbers should ever attempt this. Been there, done that, and was by no means fun. I had to almost carry by yellow lab Maggie over some of the steep terrain.

The trail to the cache is about 1.25 miles. You will cross over several small streams that feed Hell’s Run. After finally descending down to Hell’s Run you will cross over a small feeder. Look closely for the cache in this area according to the coordinates. It is easy to find.

The stash is in a clear one-gallon container with a white lid. Log book and information on the trail. Please be sure to sign your name and email the condition.

Return to the parking lot via the same North Country Scenic Trail by following again the blue blazes. The trail also continues eastward back to McConnell’s Mill, but it is at least another 6 miles.

This is part of the North Country National Scenic Trail, the longest hiking trail in the nation. It is being build by volunteer’s members of the North Country Trail Association. If you are interested in being a member or helping with the trail please visit our national web page at www.northcountrytrail.org or more information on Pennsylvania visit this web site.

If you find five of the stashes along the North Country Trail in Pennsylvania , please send your name and address and we sill send you a North Country Trail Pennsylvania patch or if you find ten to will get a T-Shirt.
