You are looking for a Tube shaped ammo can located in Hi Tor State Park along the turquoise blazed Long Path.
The cache is located near a scenic view point along the Long Path, about 150' from the trail. There is very little undergrowth, so no major bushwacking is required.
Suggested parking is at the pull-off/trailhead on Central Highway. The trail is wide and graveled, with only small changes in elevation as far as the Tyrannosaurus Cache. After that point, the surface of the trail is more rocky and a bit steeper. The trail follows the ridge line and there are many view points along the trail.
About 80' to the north of the cache there are 2 huge boulders in a field with a panoramic viewpoint of Haverstraw and the Hudson river.
The total round trip hiking distance to the cache and back from the suggested parking is just over 3 miles.
