Körmendy Chapel
The town’s old cemetery was on the hill in the town center. Ruins of an old church was recovered there in the recent past. The Körmendy-chapel can be found in the western side of the cemetery, was built in 1856, in neogothic style, nowadays it’s an exhibiton. After repainting, its popular name is Blue Chapel.
Gyulay-Gaál chapel
At the south gate of this cemetery mentioned above, you can find this chapel, which is called Red Chapel, after its color. It was built in 1896 for the Gyulay-Gaál family, in neogothic style too, and has an exhibition in it also. The delineation is octagonal.
These chapels are the most known buildings of BalatonBoglar, and with the Sphere of Boglár they’re the symbols of this town.
You may look up the Sphere of Boglár, there’s another cache also, and the Teleki monument placed closed to the Catholic Church.
