Corsham Court Sheep Reserve Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

The Cuthberts: This cache has definitely gone for good now as the 190yr old tree that was housing it has been chopped down to the ground. Still worth a visit and I hope that another cache appears in this location pretty sharpish as it is fantastic. Thanks to those cachers who brought this to our attention.

Geocache Description:

A gentle half-mile stroll past some lovely scenery

Untitled Document Since 1745 Corsham Court has been the home of the Methuen family, based on an Elizabethan house dating from 1582. More details can be found at http://www.corsham-court.co.uk.

There is ample car-parking at N51 26.020 W02 10.983. Click here for a map

Following on from this there is an option to go to Corsham Court itself (However, this is not a commercial plug), visit the church of St Barts. or go caching !!!!..... The cache is within the adjacent park but care might be needed as sheep are quite often grazing here. The cache will need to be re-hidden well due to the comparative openness of the cache site. SAS-style diversionary tactics may be needed with some of the sheep.

Corsham itself has some lovely little shops and hostelries although they were shut at the time of writing.

The cache is contained within an ammo box. Happy caching !
