Geocache Description:

A short hike up the newest section of the Ice Age Trail Greenwood Segment takes you to this spot overlooking the surrounding forest.

This is my first geocache to be placed. It is located off the newest section of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail in the Greenwood Wildlife Refuge. There is light bushwhacking depending on which way you approach. Be thorough as most receivers don't work well due to the heavy tree cover. As you search for the cache, take a little time to examine the different stages of life in this forest. There are brand new saplings that grow in the shadows of mighty oaks. Some trees are towards the end of their life while others have already fallen down. The diversity in the refuge is its most outstanding trait. Be sure to hike the entire Greenwood Segment to see the diversity the forest and prairie provide.

Cache is winter friendly, but be careful and dress appropriately during hunting season.

You are looking for a camo covered 40 oz. PB jar with a log and room for some swag.
