Thunderbird Track #8 - Estuary EarthCache

This cache has been archived.

ohjoy!: As this is one of the oldest earthcaches around, I regret the need to archive it.

The main reason is that there is now a reader board nearby and many cachers ignore the instructions to look for the track and NOT use the reader board. They send answers based on what they see on the reader board and miss the track which is what the cache was about. It's very difficult for me to delete found logs even though instructions aren't followed.

In addition, since I placed the earthcache, the guidelines have changed and this cache would no longer be accepted as a new earthcache as it isn't based on geology. I haven't found a way to make it comply with the updated requirements to prevent cachers from answering incorrectly.

After a lot of thought the past year, I have decided that archival is the best solution.

Geocache Description:

TO VERIFY YOUR FIND, locate the Thunderbird track using the given coordinates.

BEFORE logging your find, send the following answers in a separate e-mail to me: 1) Stand at the track and estimate whether the tide is high or low, 2) look at the track, (NOT the reader board) and give me the names of at least four of the animals depicted on it, and 3) tell me where in the park you think you might find each of those animals. DO NOT include these answers in your on-line log.
