Power To The People! Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

geowyz: I always wanted to put a cache near this big old coal-burning, greenhouse gas emitting power plant and this cache was the result. However, an Inconvenient Truth is that I'm not likely to do anything about the status of this cache anytime in the near future, so I'm going to archive it. Happy caching!

Geocache Description:

Right On!

Right on!
At the above location you will find two brass tags. The first tag has six numerals stamped on it. The top three numbers represent the decimal portion of the final latitude minutes and the lower three numbers the decimal portion of the final longitude minutes.

To get the final whole minutes (left of the decimal point) you will need to follow the simple instructions on the second tag. There are several ways to do this but the best would be with a common topo map and some common sense. There may be some ambiguity once in the final area but there are only one or two possibilities and they will be easy to eliminate when you consider that the cache is not on private property and is within a few feet of a public thoroughfare (thus single star for terrain.)

Just so you know what you are getting into, the direct distance to the cache from the offset is a little over seven miles but the driving distance will be more like seventeen. There are a number of caches in the general area of the first waypoint so you might want to plan your day accordingly. I hope to put one or two others in the general vicinity of the final location in the near future to make the trip more attractive to most cachers.

The background topo map is not necessary to find this cache but it could make your life a lot easier (right click on background and save.) I would advise printing it out to take with you. (The decimated jpeg below is of inferior resolution.) Alternatively, the Missouri City and Thompsons 1:100,000 USGS quads on Topo Zone will work at least as well.

The cache is a plastic container roughly three inches in diameter and three inches tall. Easy peasy!
