This cache is part of the Foundation for Water & Energy Education Hydro Cache Challenge. Visit 7 participating sites and you’ll receive a FWEE Hydro Cache Challenge patch! Enter by going to http://fwee.org/nw-hydro-tours/fwee-hydro-cache-challenge/

This wheelchair accessible cache is available from 9AM to 5PM daily, except January 1, Thanksgiving, and December 25. The actual cache, accessible only from the Oregon side of the Columbia River, is not located at the above waypoint. This cache was placed with the knowledge and approval of the Bonneville Lock and Dam Park Manager.

Park in the large lot and enter the building at the above waypoint. Enjoy the many displays on this level and use the information provided to answer the following questions. Before leaving the building, you may also wish to view the films on Level 3 and the fish viewing windows on Level 1.

The part of the Columbia River Gorge where this geocache is located has a rich and diverse cultural history. By seeking this cache, you will discover the first inhabitants, explorers, fur traders, early Euro-American settlers, steamboats and a large, multi-purpose dam.
