Geocache Description:

a log only cache and dash...stealth required depending on when you are hunting. parking near gz

A great use for those shallow depressions created to catch the run off from roads, parking lots and other man made impervious surfaces are Rain Gardens.

Local indigenous plants are used so as not to need special care and fertilization. Wetlands plants are planted at the bottom of the basin while upland plants are towrds the top. The plantings will help keep pollutants out of the local waterway. They will also provide food and habitat for local wildlife.

Volunteers put the depression behind the Atlantic County Library to good use. While this depression is deeper than most, the garden will serve the same purpose. 380 native species of plants were planted with more to come. Plantings include Blue Flag, Wild Bergamot, Purple Cone Flower and Blueberry bushes.

Once the plants are established and blooming it should be something to see!

Please do not enter the fenced in garden. The cache is located outside of the fence.

Please post photos so we can see how the garden is coming along!

Thanks for caching with me!
