Geocache Description:

Come one, come all and start the new year meeting old friends and making new ones. You might want to team up or go solo. A hot meal, and good company on a snowy cold winters morn, what more could one ask for? Whether you're new to geocaching or an old pro come on out and grab some grub and share your caching stories with fellow cachers. Then, if you are so inclined, head on out and find a cache or even make a day of it.

Breakfast in the Blustery Burbs (BBB) began in 2005 in Bolingbrook IL at a time when events were quite rare and I though it would be nice to get together with friends and it's continued ever since. Periodically the location has been changed to keep things fresh, with events mainly in Bolingbrook but also in Gurnee, Northbrook, and Tinley Park. It's time again to mix things up, time for a change. So this year we bring you BBB in Elgin. There are some fabulous forest preserves and tons of caches nearby, and a good time is guaranteed to be had by all.

7:30-9:00am Breakfast in the Blustery Burbs including voting for the Blustery Photo Contest, and door prizes.
2-3:00pm CITO in the Blustery Burbs hosted by Greenback
5:30-6:00pm Flash Mob in the Blustery Burbs 2019 hosted by Siamese Retriever with a FTF cache hunt to keep you going until the final event of the day.
8-8:30pm Warm up in the Blustery Burbs 2019 hosted by bbyshdws & pjy1911.

Blustery Photo Contest:
Do you like to geocache in the winter? Do you enjoy photographing your adventures? This year consider entering the Blustery Photo contest and you may be the photographer elite in the community, well at least garnish bragging rights and a prize. The photo contest starts December 1, 2018 and the deadline to enter is midnight on December 31, 2018. Learn how to enter the contest here.

Door Prize Drawing:
8:45am we'll have the door prize drawing. Donations to the door prizes are welcome and much appriciated. This year I've got a few donations from Madamemoutard and Bat & Princess Margie, as well as some items I'll be bringing. See Mike Swaney at check-in if you have anything to donate.

Gratuity:
We ask that each adult attending drop $1 in a tip jar which will be located at the sign-in table. The tip $ is given to the servers who work our area at the end of the event.

tRaCkAbLeS:
Trackables which will fit in a regular sized container are welcome and will be assured to move on from the event. Large trackables are the responsibility of the person who brings them, you must find someone who agrees to be responsible for moving them on.

Will there be snow?:
Maybe the right question is; will there be a polar vortex? Through the history of this event we've had a foot of snow within 24 hours prior to the event twice, temperatures below zero once, an absolutely lovely day once, and the rest were a mixed bag of cold windy days. That's the point of the event, the worse the weather the warmer the food and fellowship will be.

Event Caches:
Every year we encourage the placement of caches for the event. If you would like to hide caches in conjunction with this event your efforts are truly appreciated. Please take into account the following guidelines for placing event caches....

Ask the reviewer to publish the cache Friday 01/11/2019 at 8pm so folks can download the waypoints prior to the event. (simply add a reviewer note to your cache page before submitting it.)
Email Mike Swaney as greenback@gogeocaching.com with the name, and GC number of the new cache and it will be added along with your name to the list of event caches.
