Geocache Description:

Amid all the hustle, bustle, and trappings of the 21st century we may find little remembrances to the past. Not far from a busy expressway and modern office buildings sits just a place, now forgotten; a reminder of the early 19th century settlers. Vets of the American Revolution? A better search than I had time for is needed. Could not find a single resident of New Jersey with the same name.

This should be a quick off/on if you're traveling on the GS, look for exit 109. Enter via office park road (Schultz Dr.), not through the hotel parking lot. This is a micro, remember to bring your own writing instrument.

June 2014 Update:

A sign and information kiosk put up by Middletown Township now identifies the larger burial ground as the Historic Grover Burial Ground, 1835-1891. I don't recall these being here 2-1/2 year ago. My own research showed that the 18th c. Grover House stood nearby on what is now Newman Springs Rd. near GSP Exit 109. The house was moved and currently stands at the entrance of Stevenson Park on West Front Street.

As for the story behind the H. J. Timanus name on the old iron gate, more research is needed. Like the original CO, I haven't found any specific ties to this area.
