Guess what, August 20th is National Chocolate Pecan Pie Day!!! You needn’t feel too guilty about indulging in a piece of pie, because pecans have all kinds of health benefits. They contain more valuable antioxidants than any other type of nut, plus plenty of fibre, minerals and vitamins. (Like we really need a reason to dig in!)
The word pecan comes from the Native American Algonquin language. As the only nuts native to north America, pecans have been eaten for generations in both the USA and Mexico, but they’ve only been grown commercially since the late 19th century. The perfect way to celebrate Chocolate Pecan Pie Day is dig in over caching stories. Go nuts and enjoy yourself! I'm planning on bringing two chocolate pecan pies (homeade of course!). If you have a preference for chocolate pecan pie minus the best part, the chocolate, I believe I had one or two volunteers who were planning on bringing one of those.
Time: 1730-2000 (come hang out with us instead of sitting in traffic and trying to cross the Occoquan during rush hour!)

A note about trackables: Feel free to bring them. I'll bring two boxes, one to discover and one to trade. Just please don't leave them unattended on the tables, they can be accidentally lost when the tables are cleaned.
