The Old Spanish Trail was used between 1830 and 1848 as a trade route linking Santa Fe, New Mexico and Los Angeles, California. During that period, Mexican and American traders took goods west over the trail by mule train, and returned eastward with California mules and horses for the New Mexico and Missouri markets. The Trail left Santa Fe and split into two routes. The South or Main Branch headed toward Colorado's San Juan mountains. A Congressional Act signed in December 2002 makes this our newest National Historic Trails. Bring some postcards to swap.
From Albuquerque, NM go towards Four Corners (the only place in the US where four states meet) on US 550 to Bloomfield, NM. Now go East on US 64 to the small town of Blanco, NM. Go NW on 575. Continue up this dirt road 3 miles until you see a large cliff to the east. At the top of the cliff look for a group of two large juniper trees. It is hidden near there.
AS always WATCH out for oil field trucks and give them the road and snakes too.

The cache is small enough for small signature cards. The letter box stamp is not a trading item, it is only for stamping. Inside the box are a log book and a stamp. There is no stash in this box. Please write something in the log, or better yet, make yourself a letterboxing stamp, bring an inkpad, and leave your mark.

Bueno! Nicely done. Utilized my drawing skills in place of a stamp. Gracias!

Actually found this site a couple of years ago but didn't have a stamp to properly fulfill the letterboxing requirements. Finally got around to making a stamp and went back today.

#2490 found at 3:40pm. We went on a little jaunt to Navajo Lake today and surrounding area. We expected bad weather because of the weather reports on TV. What we saw was a beautiful day and a light breeze.

We originally we looking in the wrong places so it took awhile to find. This is such a fun cache and we really had a good time here. Thanks for that.

We put our stamp into the log book with lime colored ink and stamped the available stamp on our paper.

Left a homemade signature coin of an Anasazi ram.

TNSL and most of all, TFTC!
