SauroCache Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

mattkefamily: Can't seem to find the time to get out there and replace.

However, like we've indicated in many a log- it's worth it to go out there- even if there isn't a plastic tub full of some kitchy crap in it.

Enjoy!

Geocache Description:

A quick and easy cache to find when tracking dinosaurs!

This is an easy find, but one where you'll need to be discrete if other paleo-trackers and geo-muggles are nearby.

The cache itself would have been stepped on by a huge sauropod (think Brontosaurus, who was a sauropod though we're not 100% sure what dino made these tracks) if he or she didn't die some 80 million years ago. The tracks point right for some rocks that weren't there when the beast left these tracks in the (then) mud.

It's best to park just beyond the Co Road 103's low water crossing, then walk back to the creek. Track for the coordinates and you'll see some of the many footprints preserved here for millions of years under sedimentary rocks.
