Geocache Description:

A-Maze-ing Cache
Kitsap County, WA
Terrain: Moderate - No defined trail
Difficulty: Moderate (Puzzle)
Cache Location - Undisclosed

Location

Information about the location of this cache is unavailable. It is not in the middle of Liberty Bay as the map suggests. This cache requires a puzzle to be solved before learning the actual coordinates.

Cache Information

Once you finally find the cache, you will be greeted with a small container. Unfortunately, as with other parts of this cache hunt, information about the container is also secret!

Please do not place travel bugs into this cache. The miles travelled cannot be properly calculated since this cache is not located anywhere near these coordinates. If you really must place a travel bug in this cache (Hey, I won't stop you!), or if you encounter any Travel Bugs in this cache, be sure to read the "How To" Guide to Travel Bugs to help the critters on their journey.

Navigation Information

To find this cache, you must first solve the maze (see links below). The maze is a simple text file consisting of plusses (+), dashes (-), and pipes (|). These characters are arranged such that you can trace the lines made with the text to follow a path. An example maze is shown below:

+-+ +-+ +
| | | | |
+ + + + +
| | | |
+ +-+ +-+
| | | | |
+ + + + +
    | | |
+-+-+-+ +

By following the lines, the solution to this maze would be:

+-+ + + +
  |
+ + + + +
  |
+ +-+ +-+
    | | |
+ + + + +
    | | |
+ + +-+ +

Pretty easy, right? A 5x5 maze is pretty easy. The maze you need to solve for this cache is 100x80; Just a bit larger! Wander your way through the maze to discover the coordinates of the first leg of your journey.

After solving and decoding the maze, go to the coordinates. It should be pretty obvious when you've got the right coordinates. Simply project the final cache coordinates from this spot at 205°T (True North) at a distance of 350 feet. Tree cover is quite heavy at the cache location so refer to the maze coordinates to make sure you are on the proper bearing when searching to be sure you are on track.
