Geocache Description:

Boy Scout Troop 100 (Northport, Alabama) is camping at Deerlick Park on the weekend of April 11-13, and 6wiggies and I (KesselRun) will be teaching them the Geocaching merit badge. Our sons Righteous Quest 2000 and TacoMan 2001 are part of this troop.

To kick off the geocaching activities for the weekend, we wanted to host a Cache In Trash Out event to emphasize the importance of protecting the environment while geocaching as well as showing how geocaching aligns with the BSA-supported principles of "Leave No Trace."  We will be picking up garbage around the Deerlick boat launch and the shoreline around the posted coordinates.  All geocachers are invited! Garbage bags and gloves will be provided.  A trekking pole or grabber may be useful if you have one.

Please come out and show your support for the Boy Scouts and geocaching!

The CITO event will be held on Saturday, April 12 and will begin at 8:00 AM, lasting for one hour.
