The waterfall is not labelled at the road, but there is a path leading to it. Young children should be supervised as there are some steep hills. The path will be slippery and muddy in some places. Be sure to visit the nearby MNA Memorial Falls which is accessible from Nestor St or from these falls using a rustic trail connecting the two falls.
You cannot park on H-58. It is well marked with No Parking signs and you will most likely be ticketed. It is recommended you park on Washington Street and walk over. If you approach from Nestor Street, add a couple stars to the terrain rating and use caution as you may come out at the top of the waterfall.
This waterfall was originally know as Tannery Falls. It was renamed to Olson Falls by the Michigan Nature Association and is part of the MNA Twin Waterfalls Memorial Sanctuary.
You will not get any good GPS reception due to the surrounding cliffs, which is the reason for the higher difficulty rating. So, once you are in the general area, you are on your own. Good Luck!
Please visit the Michigan Nature Association website, www.michigannature.org, for more information on this and other MNA sanctuaries.
See the following website for more information on the waterfall: (visit link)
The cache is a clear tupperware container with a green lid. You will not need to leave the path to get it so you do not need to disturb the surrounding vegetation. Bring your camera! CITO
