Geocache Description:

Located in the wetlands portion of the McCully Heritage Project.

This is the first cache placed in this wonderful privately funded area. The McCully Heritage Project is the endowment of the late Howard and Eva McCully of 940 acres of Calhoun County hills and woodlands. It is open to anyone wishing to enjoy the natural beauty of the site. The McCully Farm encompasses woodlands, prairie, wetlands, and agricultural land. A 19th century log cabin and over 12 miles of trails provide a setting for individuals and groups to learn about natural resources, conservation, cultural history, and the environment. The general public is welcome to hike, picnic, fish, bird watch, and enjoy the natural beauty of the site. For safety reasons, ALL VISITORS ARE REQUIRED TO REGISTER at the kiosk by the parking lot before accessing the site. The area closes at sunset. Organized as a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation, the McCully Heritage Project receives no direct tax subsidy and is supported by funding from the McCully Trust and tree farming. It also relies upon contributions from individuals, groups and families that use the site. All contributions made are tax deductible. The cache is a small camo'd container with a log only. Bring your own writing instrument!
Placed with permission from the McCully Board of Directors. Many thanks to them!
