You first challenge in completing this cache can be found hidden in a rather sizable rock formation. Look on the Eastern side of this formation and you will find a cavernous void about half way up. In that void you will find all the direction required to complete your mission.
Preparation:
· You will be hiking several miles, mostly off trail in a mountainous region, so you will want good hiking boots with ankle support. There are some trails but many paths are rocky and uneven.
· Although climbing gear (ropes, harness, carabiners, etc) is not required, at one point you will need to climb and traverse a small rock wall.
· We hiked about 7 miles when placing this cache. We imagine you will have to do the same, so you may want to bring some bottled water and perhaps an energy bar or two.
· A flashlight is not required but will help in certain places.
· GPS reception is pretty good in most spots, but a compass will make your search easier.
· Start early! Plan to be searching/hiking for most of the day. It took us 5 hours to place the cache once we knew where it was going. It shall surely take longer to find.
