Geocache Description:

What

Come on out and join us for a night of kids playing (yelling, screaming, fighting, skinned knees, etc.) having such a great time, adults talking and enjoying each others company, watching the kids - remembering when they had that kind of energy, meeting new people, seeing old faces, and some good old food and drink!

Talk Geocaching, cache hides, puzzles and the great stories of the trail. Bring your Bugs,Coins, Tags and Sig items for trade or exchange. Stop by for a visit or hang out for a while. You may wish to bring your own lawn chairs and bug juice, or jacket (as last May's event was 43 degrees if memory serves me correctly! ). This past winter we have seen some new faces and welcome them (and anyone else) to the Potluck in the Park events. I hope you find us to be a friendly bunch and want to come again. Welcome all of you!!

When

July 16th, 2015 from 6pm - 8:00pm. (We always try to make the monthly events the 3rd Thursday of the Month to be consistent.)

Where

Palmer Park. Entrance is off of 52nd St. The posted coordinates are for the first shelter in the park. However, we have not been reserving any spots. The park ranger has been so good to us and lets us use the shelter (and makes sure water is turned on and restrooms opened) so if you see one - say a word of "thanks". If you don't find us at the first location (which are the event coordinates) keep on driving to the next pavilion or until you find our group. I'll try to remember to post an announcement to the cache page once I've spoke with the park ranger and let everyone know where to find us.

Who

Everyone is welcome at the event. New and old geocachers alike are all welcome!

What Do I Bring?

Some of you may NOT know this at all but the Southwest Chapter has the largest turn out of any monthly event in the state. Now, I don't want to brag, toot my own horn, or a na-na boo-boo to any of our other chapters. My point is this - the Geocaching community continues to grow and we have a lot of people. Our record attendance is near 150 people at some events although it seems to be a bit less (people must be out geocaching) in the summer months! That is honest a HUGE group of people and I'm so thrilled to see everyone of you. That is why I request everyone to bring a main dish plus one other item (see below).

Potluck by Last Name:

Everyone: Bring a Main Dish
A-M - bring a Salad or Side Dish
N-Z - bring a Dessert

We run out of food very quickly with the large attendance. Could you consider bringing something larger or extra if you are able?

Celebrating a Milestone?

We want to hear. Please post a note to the cache page or email me. We'll try to make an announcement and celebrate with you! I will also be adding celebrations here below so you're name and find number will be an official part of this event!

Congratulations to Theophi1os on his 500th find at the event!

Future Events:
