Geocache Description:


A Stroll Through the Statues

This trip begins with a stroll through one of Loveland's unique parks, followed by short drive and walk to the cache, which is an ammo box. The terrain is all smooth except for the final part. Have fun!

1) Go to: N 40° 25.396' W 105° 05.647'

2) Proceed on a heading of 45° magnetic for 80 ft. There you will find hand prints in the concrete in front of a statue.
a) How many feet does the child have on the ball?
b) How many letters are in the second word of the statue's title?
c) How many letters are in the Sculptor's first name of the leftmost set of hand prints?
d) Looking at the plaque associated with the hand prints, how many letters are in the first word on the third line?

The sum of all the answers should be 15. If it is not, recheck your work before proceeding.

Determine the coordinates for the next step by filling in the blanks of the coordinates below with the answers to the questions above.

3) Go the the destination determined in step 2. There you will find a statue of a creature.
a) How many eyes does the creature have?
b) How many letters are engraved on the statue?
c) How many times does the the lettter "e" appear in the statue's title?
d) How many consonants are in the statue's title?
e) How many letters are in the last word of the title?
f) How many letters appear on the second line of the plaque?

The sum of all the answers should be 33. If it is not, recheck your work before proceeding.

Determine the coordinates for the next step by filling in the blanks of the coordinates below with the answers to the questions above.

4) Go to the destination determined in step 3. There you will find a fairly realistic statue of a man facing south-east.
a) How many letters are in the last word of the sixth line?
b) How many times does the letter "s" appear in the sculptor's last name?
c) How many fingers does the man have wrapped around the stick?

The sum of the answers should be 12. If it is not, recheck your work before proceeding.

5) Proceed down the concrete path on a heading of 347 magnetic for 500 feet. There you will find a bench on which you can rest without feeling alone. Nearby are some grazing animals. Proceed over to them and answer the following questions.

a) How many ears are there total?
b) How many of the animals are facing north (or nearly north)?
c) How many letters are in the first word of the statue's title?
d) How many letters are on the second line of the plaque?

The sum of all the answers should be 15. If it is not, recheck your work before proceeding.

Determine the coordinates for the next step by filling in the blanks of the coordinates below with the answers to the questions above.

6) Go to the destination determined in step 5. There you will find a boy and some animals.
a) If you offered the boy $2 for each of the animals, how many dollars would you need?
b) How many of the animals have their heads down?

The sum of the answers should be 7. If it is not, recheck your work before proceeding.

7) Determine the final coordinates by filling in the blanks below using answers from the previous questions:

Proceed to this location, at which you'll find a small statue. The cache is 40 feet from the statue on a heading of 340° (magnetic).

Note: It is not necessary to walk on grass to reach the statue. The closest you can park is a little southwest of the statue, and you can then reach it by walking down a concrete path.
