Welcome to Rulpuli cache. This cache was placed by Team member
Aart-Jan of Team Professor X during his stay at orchard homestay
farm near Chamba Valley in Himachal Pradesh.
Rulpuli is a mountain and small town at the summit approximately a
half hours drive from Chamba Valley Town. Mind you… after
the half hour drive you will be going up, up and… up to the
summit of Rulpuli mountain! There is no set path to reach the top,
but there’s many farmers paths that you could take to reach
the summit. The cache is hidden near the Himalayan Ridgemoor
cottage, which is owned by the family that safeguards the
cache.
Please be advised that for untrained people (like me 
)
the hike up and down can be strenuous and due to the terrain and
sometimes quickly changing weather conditions, perhaps a little
dangerous. Don’t go out on your own unless you are very sure
of what you are doing!! So far for the ‘don’t try this
at homes’
.
The hike towards Rulpuli cache will take you through farm land on
the slopes of the mountain and then slowly changing into alpine
like forest landscape. On top of Rulpuli mountain your reward will
be 360 degrees panorama views to snowcapped mountains and a meadow
like landscape that will make you think you ended up at the set of
‘The sound of music’. And a cache to find of course
.

The cache will be maintained by the people of Orchard Hut farm
homestay. These people are also helpful to arrange a hike,
should you be uncertain by venturing out on your own. Their hike
support is excellent, as is the packed lunch with dishes prepared
out of their own organically grown vegetables! Should you need
