All Aboard for Breakfast on the Iron Horse Express Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Pyewacket: What a blast! Hosting my first event turned out better than I ever dreamed was possible, thanks to the overwhelming attendance of such enthusiastic cachers. Oh, the delectable goodies...so plentiful and so tasty! So many treasures to be found today...caches, a humdinger of a tunnel, the vindication of prior failed attempts, and the camaraderie...just a splendid, splendid day, all the way 'round. Shall we try to do this again next summer? [:D]

Geocache Description:

A special note of thanks to Moun10Bike; I pulled the coords for the trailhead parking lot from his Tunnel of Light cache page.

It's a tailgate potluck breakfast event! Bring bagels, cinnamon rolls, muffins, doughnuts, monkey bread...heck, bring pizza if you love pizza for breakfast. Throw a thermos of your favorite morning beverage into your cachemobile, and meet fellow cachers at the Iron Horse trailhead on Saturday, June 28, at nine o'clock a.m. for an hour or so of chat, trading trackables, and camaraderie. Two friends of mine from the east coast, ATMouse and Goldfinch593, plan to attend; be sure to introduce yourself!

After meeting and greeting and eating (oh, my!), don't miss the experience of making your way through the 2.3 mile Snoqualmie Pass Tunnel, either on foot or by bike. I'll be riding The Pyecycle through, and would love the company of others on their bikes. Bring a bright headlamp, headlight for your bike, and/or a flashlight or three...you ain't seen dark until you're in the tunnel and the only light is the pinpoint of illumination at the end. Bring a warm jacket and gloves or mittens; even in June, the tunnel is very cold and very damp, with icy-cold water drippping from the ceiling. There are three caches between the trailhead and the celebrated A.P.E. cache, including two caches hidden in the tunnel itself.

I hope to see you there!
