Krypton: As there's been no response to my previous note, I assume that the cache is not going to be repaired or replaced, so I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Geocache Description:

A park cache with awesome views of downtown and the bay, in the historic Mission district.

If the Mission is in the 'sun belt' of San Francisco, then Dolores Park is the belt buckle. It's truly a microcosm of the city--people (& dogs) from all walks of life come to the park for sun, fun & frolic, and intermingle with each other peacefully.

One of the things that makes this a wonderful slice of San Francisco is the dogs. The wide open, mostly sunny & centrally located spot makes this a mecca for SF dogs & their owners. Rain or shine, you'll almost always find a pack of pooches on the hill above the playground.

Bring a bone for the dogs. Play tennis, shoot some hoops or have a picnic. Bring a towel and layout on the 'beach', the flat areas at the top of the park, or watch the hardbodies tanning themselves on sunny days. Go to the top of the park at 20th & Church to appreciate the views.

The cache is a small tupperware container. There is no need to go onto the muni tracks to find the container. Please make sure that it is fully obscured after you find it. If you have a dog-related trade item, this is a good spot to exchange it.
