Skigirl and I noticed this rocky ridge in the distance while hiking along the Terrace Pond North trail. It was obvious that the view from there would be terrific, but how to get there? We spent the afternoon hiking the TPN trail and pipeline cut looking for an easy way, but after over 5 miles of walking and searching we came up empty.
We came back the next day and found an old trail with faint yellow blazes starting at Warwick Turnpike. It seemed to go in the right direction, but we soon lost the trail.
There must be an easy way to the top, but darned if we can find it. So unless you can find an easy route, you have a pretty tough climb ahead of you, even though its under a half mile from the road. The view at the top is a worthwhile reward however.
The terrain rating assumes you came the way we did. There must be an easier way in because some finders have reported numerous illegal ATVs and ORVs near the cache. It seems to be a popular gathering spot for them.
