Geocache Description:

Where were you?

On May 3, 2000, Dave Ulmer placed a five-gallon bucket in the woods outside of Beaver Creek, Oregon. He listed the coordinates on the Internet and geocaching was born. The original "stash" contained a Delorme Topo USA and 2 CDs, a cassette recorder, a "George of the Jungle" video tape, a Ross Perot book, four $1 bills, a slingshot handle, and a can of beans.

As part of the 10 Year Geocaching Anniversary Commemoration, lets celebrate the way us Rochesterian cachers do best...

Lets have some Ice Cream!

On Sunday, May 2nd, starting at 3:30PM we will have a meet and greet at Read's Ice Cream located at 3130 East Henrietta Road, Henrietta, NY. This is a great chance to hang out with other cachers and enjoy some tasty homemade ice cream, to go along with all our stories of caches past, present and future.

If the weather is nice, Read's has an area with a couple of picnic tables in the back where we can hang out, assuming we can scare any muggles away. Bring a lawn chair if you are so inclined.

Looks like possible rain on Sunday - may be wise to bring umbrellas!

As part of the 10 year celebration, we will be taking a group photo around 4PM with an anniversary banner showing the event coordinates and location name.

Please post a will attend log with number of people coming, so we can give Read's an approx head count. Hope to see you all there!
