When the new Earthcache at Barton Springs, created by bennet,
was published, I think I was probably not the only one who thought
to myself, "Now why didn't WE think of that???" After
searching through three stores for a thermometer to use, I thought
"HMMM .. maybe it would be nice to make a thermometer available for
people to use!" ... SO I DID.
If you borrow this thermometer to fulfill the requirements of
the earthcache at Barton Springs, PLEASE replace it as soon as you
are finished. After all, it's right there on the other end of the
parking lot. I left the battery OUT of the thermometer, so it
wouldn't run down. All you have to do is put the battery in and the
door on, make sure the clock-in-out switch on the back is set to
OUT, and plug in the 10-foot sensor cable. If there are non-numeric
characters on the display, use the two buttons on the front to
reset the max and min readings and you should be good to go. Just
drop the sensor in the water and take your required picture with
the readout! Please email me if you have any trouble with the
thermometer, so I can go down and check it out.
Happy Trails!
