The Big Blue Marble
Earth is the third closest planet to the sun, about 93 million miles away, with a diameter of about 8000 miles. These distances are scaled for NWISSM as described here. More information about our planet can be found on the web at links such as this. Isn't it remarkable that our planet is just the right distance from the sun (temperature) and the just the right size (gravitation) for liquid water to abound.
The NWISSM-Earth cache is located on a road section of the Okoboji Spine Trail. Take a few paces down the road from the cache to catch a glimpse of NWISSM-Sol. At the NWISSM scale, the moon would be the size of a golf ball about 12 feet away.
