Olde Muskingum Trail - Mile 5 - Crystal Springs Traditional Cache

The inspiration for this cache series came after visting basebell6's Olde Muskingum Trail - 1 cache that was recently hidden. Be sure to visit the other caches in the series.

Located near an area, along the Tuscarwas River and Ohio & Erie Canal, called Crystal Springs. Not sure where the springs are but that is what this area is referred to on topo maps. I decided to not place the cache near the 5 mile marker due to residences nearby.

This cache series is located along the 6 mile long "Olde Muskingum Trail" in Stark County that lies west of the Tuscarawas River extending from Canal Fulton to Forty Corners in Jackson Township. While there is, indicated by the signs along the trail, an "Active Railroad" parallel to the trail, it's very rare for a train to use this route. A fence to separate the trail from the railroad tracks exist along most, but not all, of the trail.

Still, there is no need to get close to the fence/railbed while seeking this cache. You're looking for a size 30 Chum Bucket. Be sure to bring your own writing utensil. I forgot to put anything in to sign the log. Once you find the cache, please restore it to it's original location.

So get on your hiking boots, walking/jogging shoes or grab a bike. Give yourself plenty of time since this is not a quick cache and grab.

This cache was hidden while attending a "Camping, Canoeing, and River Pirates" Father/Son activity that the Christian Service Brigade from The Chapel in Akron holds each fall.
