Located at the junction of Kansas, Nebraska and Colorado this cache is a virtual one as it is located on private property.
I listed this cache in Colorado, just because that's where the entrance is located. The easiest access is off of Highway 27 at the Devil's Gap/3 Corners entrance. This is marked but the sign is set back from the road and down in a ditch so watch carefully! You will be going thru open range area so drive slowly and watch for very tolerant (or is it stubborn?) cattle in the area. About half way thru the open range there is a 2 lane trail (accessible with a car) that goes .4 of a mile to a green fenced-in area. Someone has placed a mailbox there for you to log into along with interesting information about the area. Don't forget to explore down the other trail to discover another hidden treasure. Just beware of biting fire ants! This pasture's more interesting than most I've been in. Hey, not everyone can say they own land in three states. I wonder how they handle their property taxes....?
In order to log this visit, please email the answers to the following questions directly to me. Do not post them in your log!
1. When did Jarret Todd and James Withrow first survey
the area?
2. What year was the area remonumented?
3. What does the center of the first survey marker say
both above and below the arrow?
4. What is the date of the plaque's dedication?
5. How many actual, physical placemarkers are there
related to this area? (Consider your answer
carefully)
