Veni, Inveni,
Discessi - I Came, I found, I left.
Our New
Geocaching Motto!!!
This is a two
stage cache that should have you Roman' around a
bit:
The first stage is located
off of Rte 68 in Wallingford. There is a micro located
@ N41 28.743 W72
44.363. This micro
will give you the location of the final stage of the
cache.
The theme to this cache is
obviously a Roman one. So the co-ordinates in the micro are
given in Roman Numerals. For those not familiar with them
here is a quick guide:
I =
1
V = 5
X = 10
L = 50
C = 100
D = 500
M = 1000 |
A smaller number
placed before a larger number means that the smaller number is
subtracted from the larger number. Here are a sample set of
co-ordinates to give you an idea of how it's done:
N - XLI XXVII.CCMV = N41
27.805
W - LXXII XLIII.DCCXI = W72
43.711
Simple right?! |
The second
stage sits about a mile away from the first stage. It looks like
the picture above only a little smaller. Inside are the usual
trade items but there is a treasure chest in there as well.
Inside this treasure chest are real Roman coins. Please only
take a coin if you have something neat to trade it with (another
cool coin of some sort - No circulated state quarters
please!).
