Uncommon Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

Lactodorum: Rather than keep this cache temporarily disabled (which should only be used for shortish periods) I'm archiving it. If/when the cache is ever replaced I'll gladly unarchive it assuming it still meets the guidelines.

Geocache Description:

This is a multi-stage cache located on the Southampton Common. The waypoints and the final cache are all off the beaten path: Lots of brambles, holly and stinging nettles !

This is a lesser visited section of the East side of the Avenue in the Southampton Common. Suggested parking is in Furzedown Road: N50 56.0012 W01 24.069 Or at the weekend in one of the University of Southampton Car Parks: N50 56.223 W01 23.851 Co-ordinates for first stage: N50 56.162 W01 24.085 There are two further stages like the first one, then the final cache, which is an ammo box with official geocaching sticker. The cache contains quite a few CD music singles, and an automatic camera with film. I had a really fun afternoon placing this cache. It was a beautiful, sunny day and the ground was dry. But it might be a bit soggy at other times of the year. I did get a few scratches on my arms and legs while walking through the undergrowth. Good eyesight might also be a requirement for this cache ! This cache is bit of a challenge, especially in Summer when the undergrowth is higher. It is easier (but muddier!) in Winter.
