Veni, Vidi, Vici. These are the words issued by Julius Caesar to
the Roman Senate describing his victory over Pharnaces II, King of
Pontus, in 47 B.C. Translated from Latin, this phrase means "I
came, I saw, I conquered" which sums up the 3 geocaches I placed up
in this area. This is the first - "I came".
The posted coordinates are for the general parking area for this
cache (and also the VIDI and VICI caches). The parking area can be
accessed by driving to the north end of Sunningdale and taking the
road that leads up to the Trail Water Tank. There is a gate at the
beginning of this road that is closed from 8
PM till 7 AM. There are many roads/trails located past
the water tank, but only one of them will take you to the parking
area. Four wheel drive isn't necessary, although a little clearance
is helpful. My little Ford Ranger made it easily in 2WD. The cache
is 150 meters from the parking coordinates.
The higher difficulty rating refers to obtaining the geocache
coordinates - which can be found contained within the black square
below.
