Geocache Description:

The above co-ordinates will put you in the centre of the Town Square where there is limited free parking (including a disabled space) and two car-parks just off the square. There are public toilets (Disabled - RADAR) next to one of the carparks

Wheelchair Logo
This cache is wheelchair accessible. However, some parts of the route have a fairly steep gradient and depending on your degree of mobility you may require some assistance in these areas to allow you to complete the cache (feedback on this matter would be appreciated)

Warning – You must use the information you find in the town as alternative sources may differ.

We had decided to set a cache in our home town, and after listening to Dorsetgal's talk at the Burrington Coombe Bash Event in February 2007 we pledged to make sure it was suitable for wheelchair users - so here it is. It has certainly been a challenge to find a suitable hiding place for a non-micro cache in the town, and doubley so to ensure it is accessible by wheelchair. The cache box is small, however there is room for geocoins, small travel bugs and perhaps a few small swaps. We hope you enjoy hunting for it and exploring our town.

Stage 1
The answers for the first six questions can be found within the boundaries of the town square.

1. What year was the weather vane added to the Market Cross? = ABCD
2. Find SCC. What is the five letter vertical word? = EFGHJ
3. In which Century were the EFGHJ restored? = KL
4. If you were window shopping upstairs in the Old Market Shop how many panes could you see through? = MN
5. What time does the ‘Kings Head’ close? = P
6. Solve the anagram to find 'Sauls Home'. In which Century was it built? = QR

Stage 2 (Waypoint only)
Now proceed to: N51.17.174 W002.49.009 to find the path to the next stage

Stage 3
The number of large rocks in a line at N51.17.188 W002.48.910 = S      (June '11 - there are now two additional rocks, so please minus 2 from S to use in stage 4)

Continue straight ahead on the footpath until you reach the main road and then proceed to the next stage

Stage 4
Go to N51.17.2(S+1)2 W002.48.9(S+3)7

The last digit of the high number on the telegraph pole minus the number of "shiny, noisy early birds" you can see from here = T

You should now have all the numbers to be able to find the cache

Note for wheelchair users - Although the cache can be approached from several directions, it is advisable to approach directly from stage 4 and not from the square
