Wisconsin has a multitude of small rural community cemeteries. These physical history books tell wonderful stories of life and death, from the early 1800’s to the present. And they often provide a quiet spot in an otherwise busy life.
I have driven past this location dozens of times over the years, and have never noticed this small rural cemetery, hidden in the middle of the field. The other day Tigerred commented on it. I stopped the car, and asked What? Where?
According to the on-line listing for this cemetery, there are 26 individuals buried here. You will not find nearly half that number of stones. Some are sinking into the ground, and almost out of sight. In other places, the ground has sunk, indicating the location of graves.
At least 10 of these individuals are veterans. There are also quite a few children, and young adults. Live was hard in the late 1800's, so finding William, who died at age 93, is very unusual.

There is parking just off the road by the cemetery. It's a dirt track leading into the farmer's field. There is a grass strip leading to the cemetery itself.
The final is located away from the cemetery.
You will need to find William Welch, and his year of death. Using the last three digits of that year, subtract 777 to get North. Then subtract 631 to get West.
