Honkajoen varhaisimmasta asutuksesta on todisteena Myllyluoman kivikautinen asuinpaikka. Paikalta on löydetty asumuksen jäännökset, jotka ovat peräisin niin sanotun Suomusjärven kulttuurin ajoilta noin 7000–4200 eaa. Kota on jälleenrakennettu Museoviraston piirustusten mukaan Jyllin leirikeskuksen läheisyyteen, jossa on myös kätkö nro GC32425 nimellä "Lauhalan kota".

Vaikka et tältä paikalta ehkä löydäkään mitään konkreettista, olet kuitenkin muinaisen merenlahden itärannalla ja voit kenties kuulla historiallisen meren kohinaa ja kiven iskentää kodalta, missä juuri sytytellään nuotiotulia isännän kaataman hirven paistoon.
Kulje Pohjanmaantieltä Jyllinkosken suuntaan noin kilometri nähtävyys -opasteiden mukaan. Auton voi jättää P -paikalle, mistä noin 200 metriä kätkölle.

Evidence of the earliest settlement of the Honkajoki is the Stone Age residence of Myllyluoma.
