Geocache Description:

The year was 1743. The Great French explorer Jean Claude Dominican was surveying the area where the present day town of Shakopee resides. My yarns usually have a short history lesson - this is the one for this yarn. Don't bother to check your history books - they're wrong.

Jean Claude was a delightful man with a dark side. It seems he had a mistriss, one Miss Eleanor Schmenkel. Eleanor adored Jean Claude like no other, however.....

One day, a young man, by the name of Sheriff Ricardo Putzlington came a calling to the door of Miss Schmenkel. This is where the story takes a dark turn (as my yarns usually do).

He found his beloved Eleanor in the arms of one Mr. Jean Claude Dominican and was infuriated. To resolve the issue, Miss Eleanor and Jean Claude devised a plan where they could be together without fear of the jilted lover (and the law). Are you confused yet? Good. They would utter the word "exit", which as we all know is French for "hey look out, the cops are coming" and they would run off and rendevous in the trees for their smooching sessions.

The scene doesn't end well, the Sheriff caught on to the dastardly rendevous and ran them both through with his sword.

Shortly after Miss Eleanor died, she gave birth to her daughter Christina, who of course was conceived with the help of Jean Claude. Yes, that's right, I said after.

Hey, it's a yarn - you figure it out!

This cache was placed while introducing my niece to geocaching. She will maintain it.
