Located within the Tabeguache Trail Mountain bike area. A location I have had my eye on for over a year and hoping no one would beat me to placing a cache.
Park at the Tabeguache bike trailhead off Monument Road or the trailhead for the Tabeguache trail off Little Park Road. Both are about equal distance to the cache. From the trailhead on Monument Road take the Tabeguache trail and look for our National bird tail trail to the National bird wing trail or you can go from the Tabeguache trail to a trail with a name of a local solar energy company, then to the National bird wing trail.. Either way works. The wing trail goes within about 170 yards of the cache. You can walk on rocks all the way to the cache so do that to protect the soil. Elevation of the cache is about 5466 feet so you climb. Keep an eye open for critters, watch your footing and for mountain bikes coming down the trails. Its a long hike.
