Geocache Description:

Welcome to St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Neola, Iowa. Please be mindful of your surroundings (including visitors and maintenance personnel,) and respectful of those for whom this is their final resting place. Hours of operation are not posted, but please DO NOT cache after dark, so as to avoid unwanted muggle attention.

Please place container back EXACTLY as you found it. It fits just right; poor placement might cause it to fall or attract muggle attention. Fun little FTF prize :)

At first I thought it might be kind of creepy, and at least a bit morbid, to place a geocache where my relatives RIP, but my grandma was VERY fond of kitsch and silliness, and she LOVED having people stop and visit her. While she never went caching with me, she enjoyed hearing about my adventures. I know I’m not the only cacher who enjoys cemetery caches; I find the old gravestones interesting, and the surroundings peaceful. If you have time, stop to admire the view from the top of the hill, and check out some of the other gravesites - some are very ornate, and some are pretty old.

OK, back to Grandma. The posted coords will take you to her gravestone. Her name was Beatrice, but everyone called her Bea. Buried nearby are her maternal grandparents, Robert and Bertha, and her parents, Paul and Edna.

Use the following information to help you find the coords to the second stage, which is the final.

A = First digit of Bea’s year of death

B = Third digit of Bertha’s year of birth

C = Last digit of Bea’s year of death
D = First digit of Edna’s year of death

E = Third digit of Bea’s year of death

F = Third digit of Bea’s year of birth

G = Bea’s age when her father died

H = # of Hendersons buried here (according to names on the gravestones)

I = Third digit of Paul’s year of death

J = Fourth digit of Robert’s year of birth

Final: N 41 AB.CDE  W 095 FG.HIJ
