The Event officially begins at 4pm and ends when we get kicked off the beach @ 10!
However... we'll be getting a super early start so that we can pick out the best fire ring in the sand. If you want to come out early, please do! Once we stake our claim to some prime real estate, we'll update the cache page and send out an announcement with the specific coordinates of where we are. For now, the posted coordinates are for the entrance for parking. If you plan to drive in there is a fee per vehicle, so we suggest you carpool. If you bike or walk in from somewhere else, there is not. Parking does get pretty limited on weekends, so we recommend planning accordingly. ($15 per vehicle; $14 senior vehicle; $7.50 disabled, there may be other discounts).
We'll be having some fun all day long leading up to the official start of the event. We'll have some games, and things to keep us entertained all day long. Bring the family and make it a fun outing! If you don't like hanging out, bring your bike for a cruise up and down the boardwalk. There are plenty of geocaches to be found, if you haven't cleaned up the area yet! You don't have to stay all day, you don't have to stay all night. Since the event is from 4-10, you can just show up and sign the log and take off and do your own thing. We think it'll be worth hanging out and having some fun, though. What do you like to do at the beach?
Food? You bet! We'll bring out some hot dogs and a gas grill for some easy cooking. The rest is up to everyone coming. This is a pot-luck event, so let us know what you might be bringing to share. If you want to make s'mores over the fire, you'll have to bring your own pokers and fixins.
