Ah yes, I remember it like it was yesterday. It was March of 2005. A friend of mine told me about the neat game called Geocaching. He told me there was a web site that you go to and get GPS coords to find things other people have hidden.
Well being a person that is up for a challenge, I bought a GPS and went looking for my 1st cache. It was close to home and called “1, 2, 3 Lockbox” by Lavarock. It was kind of a multi where you had to find a key to open the “Lockbox”. Needless to say after that I was hooked.
Flash forward to today and over 499 other finds. I thought what better way to celebrate my 500th then to go “Back To Where I Started” and hide one of my own.
The cache is a camoed plastic jar big enough for travel bugs and trade items and is kid friendly. It is off a well maintained trail with just a slight amount of bushwhacking.
As with all N.J. wooded hides be careful of thorns, poison and ticks. Ideal parking is at the end of Albert Ave. N39 44.074 W075 08.516
