I’m a certified flight instructor, and this is a series of caches with an aviation theme. There are 8 caches in the series, hence the name. This one is located in the northwest corner of Greenhaven Park in Brooklyn Park. From Brooklyn Blvd., turn north on Boone Ave. N., and look for a right turn into the parking lot. This cache is approved by the BP Recreation and Parks Department.
You’re searching for a camo’d cylindrical plastic jar about 3” in diameter x 3” tall. There’s room for geocoins and smaller items. Original contents: $1 for the first finder and a Boba Fett TB.

The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress was a four-engine heavy bomber that was critical to Allied success in Europe during World War II. Although many were shot down early in the war, the Flying Fortress became famous for absorbing heavy damage from German fighters and anti-aircraft fire and returning its crews home safely. The B-17 carried a crew of 10, featured multiple machine-gun placements, and carried up to 8,000 pounds of bombs. It had four Wright-Cyclone radial engines producing 1,200 horsepower apiece, and flew at up to 287 mph at an altitude as high as 35,600 feet. Today, only 44 B-17s survive, and only 14 are flyable.
